Niños & Neighbors was created to help push for the City of Santa Fe to become a better, more livable place for families by ensuring the thousands of families who raise kids and invest in this city have a voice in local elections and policy decisions.
A Santa Fe that sees children as a priority, not a side note, and shows it in how City officials choose to invest, grow, and operate.
Family-Focused Governance: Policy decisions should benefit and consider impact on children and their families.
Accountability: Elected officials should follow through on their promises and actively engage with families to keep them updated on progress, barriers, and plans.
Accessibility: Infrastructure, policies, and policymaking should be inclusive of all families.
Niños & Neighbors operates as a political action committee. A political action committee (PAC) is an organization that can work to influence elections.
Santa Fe is full of so many other wonderful non-profit organizations and advocates who are doing the hard work of building community, organizing, educating, and providing mutual aid. But one thing has been missing: a group dedicated to empowering Santa Feans to use their voice in the voting booth to speak out on behalf of families with kids.
Being a PAC lets us do what needs to be done: examine and endorse candidates who are committed to prioritizing families, track their policy decisions once elected, support critical ballot measures that benefit families, and ensure our community's voice is heard during election season when it counts most.
